Chapter 8 - Yash

Yash never really liked J.J. We all were from the same high school. J.J. was our junior. I still don't know why there is ice between them, but I do know that a very tiny telescopic dust particle sized reason is - me.

Yash has always expressed his dislike in silence. Not that he expresses his thoughts or feelings in any other way, he's a complete introvert. Yash has always been my best friend. In fact, he was and is and forever shall be my first, last and only male best friend.

He and I first met at my then best friends Diwali party. I didn't know him at all, all I knew was he and I were going to get along. He and I burst crackers together (by throwing them lit on each other). We didn't become friends until much later. However, we always celebrate the day we met, on 26th October.

While he has been my only male best friend, I have never really been his only female best friend. It bothered me some times. That was before J.J. came along. After J.J., the tables turned. Yash started feeling a little neglected. Truth be told, I was neglecting him a little. All this time, he had been the only male who was important to me, but now with J.J. right there with him, it started creating some disturbance to our relationship.

About 3 years ago, Yash had started dating my then best friend, Dani, without even telling me. He didn't even mention that he was going to ask her out or that he liked her, for that matter. All I knew was something was up, but he didn't tell me what. I let him take his time.

Either way, there were things that we kept from each other and we both respected each other's privacy. The only thing that mattered was that we were there for each other. Or at least tried to be.
